"Echoes" 2018
7.5m high; aluminium, polycarbonate and LED lighting
‘"Echoes” is a reflection on the history of logging the red cedar forests and the central role of 19th century water transport. Referenced are the bark shadows from indigenous canoe building, the cross-cut saw, and the ribbed frames of timber boat building. These elements have been deconstructed and reassembled in contemporary form to create a composite sculpture that celebrates the site-specific history of Kempsey.
